Of course, math is an essential component of our everyday lives as adults. Starting those important math lessons at a young age and building a confidence with numbers and calculations is very important. Lemonade Stand Game

Money is one of the most obvious and important connections that kids can make between the math they learn in school and their everyday lives. Lemonade Stand is a classic computer game that helps students understand and manage money in a safe and educational way. This game is best for younger students approaching basic math and money for the first time. Students are given 20 dollars to set up a virtual lemonade stand in a neighbor’s yard. Each day, they must decide how many cuts of lemonade to make, how much money to charge for each cup, and how much to spend on advertising their lemonade. These price calculations are based on the cost to produce the lemonade and the weather forecast. Over a 25 day period, students will either build a lemonade business that thrives or they’ll go broke. With this game, students can apply their in-school math knowledge to running a business.

This lesson explores the world of credit and credit cards in relation to mathematics. Students of all ages, ranging from young middle school to older high school, can benefit from this lesson. It takes a certain type of student to excel in college classes online, so to be sure that you’re making the right decision, ask yourself the following questions before you consider enrolling in an online class:

Do You Have Regular Access to the Internet?

Ideally, online students should own a computer or laptop, but as long as you regularly have access to the internet, you should be ok. An online class is typically taught and tested 100% online, so it’s essential that you have reliable access to the internet in order to succeed in this format. If you don’t have a computer of your own, ask your friends if you could use theirs for school duties, or visit your school or local library to see if you can get regular access to their machines.

Do You Have Good Time Management Skills?

Online classes require far more discipline and time organization than regular classes, since everything is entirely up to you. There won’t be a professor or teacher reminding you during class that there’s an assignment coming up, that you have a test next week, or that you need to read the course materials each night.
